Job summary

Metro Supply Chain Group in Mississauga is seeking an Operations Supervisor to oversee final mile scheduling, dispatching, and coordination of delivery teams, ensuring on-time execution and strong customer service.

You will drive routing optimization, manage carrier relationships, monitor performance metrics, and coach drivers to uphold safety and efficiency while coordinating with warehouse and service providers.

Qualifications

• Completion of a secondary school diploma or equivalent; college program is an asset.
• Experience in logistics or supply chain is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate final mile routing and delivery patterns to optimize on-time performance.
• Coordinate and dispatch freight from a distribution centre.
• Ensure home delivery routes are covered and handle changes for late or absent staff.
• Assist drivers with routing issues and communicate service changes.
• Support management in implementing programs to reduce costs and improve service.
• Train and coach delivery partners to meet customer commitments.
• Generate reports to monitor service delivery and on-time performance.
• Perform quality checks for route completeness and documentation accuracy.
• Monitor daily delivery boards and follow up on results and responsibilities.
• Handle returned products efficiently and track order status.
• Maintain strong relationships with service providers and internal stakeholders.
• Act as liaison between providers, customer service, and warehouse operations to resolve issues.
• Ensure Health and Safety compliance across operations.

Shift: Monday to Friday, 3:00pm to 11:30pm

Job Summary: The Operations Supervisor carries out final mile scheduling, dispatching, and coordinating activities of independent delivery teams ensuring the day is set up for success. Other responsibilities include promoting an exceptional customer service experience while achieving on-time delivery performance.

Responsibilities

• Plan, perform and coordinate final mile routing and optimization activities to ensure most optimal delivery patterns to deploy within the established delivery window.
• Coordinating and dispatching freight at a pre-determined distribution centre.
• Ensuring all home delivery routes are covered by facilitating change requests and ensuring coverage for late or absent delivery personnel.
• Assisting drivers with routing or delivery challenges and communicating changes to service requirements.
• Supporting operations management to implement programs and policies to bring efficiencies, reduce costs and improve the customer service experience.
• Train and coach delivery partner and carriers to ensure we deliver to our commitment to our customers.
• Generating and maintaining reports and other documents to monitor and track service delivery performance and on-time-delivery performance.
• Perform quality assessments for route completeness and compliance to ensure accuracy of documentation.
• Monitor daily home delivery delivery ‘board’ and follow up on performance results and responsibilities.
• Handle returned products in an efficient and timely manner.
• Trace orders as required and notify appropriate stakeholders.
• Maintain good working relationship with service providers and internal stakeholders by responding to all inquiries and complaints.
• Act as a liaison between the service providers, customer service, warehouse in administration of accounts and between the office and customer regarding changes, resolving service and operational issues. Escalating to Operations management requiring intervention or guidance
• Responsible for Health and Safety compliance.

Education

• Completion of a secondary school diploma or a college program is considered an asset. An equivalent combination of education and experience in business administration will also be considered.

Experience

• Related logistics experience would be an asset.
