Job summary

Extendicare seeks an Operations Manager for an 18-month contract starting November 2026 in Oakville, Ontario. You will lead all administrative and financial functions in a long-term care home, mentor staff, and partner with leadership to ensure compliant, efficient daily operations.

You will oversee payroll, HR processes, resident billing, budgets, and regulatory compliance, while driving continuous improvement and resident/family service excellence.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Accounting, or Human Resources.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with advanced Excel.
• Working knowledge of cloud systems such as Workday and PointClickCare.
• 3-5 years in business/office operations; healthcare asset.
• 2-3 years supervisory or people leadership experience.
• HR, payroll, benefits, scheduling, and A/R/A/P in a unionized environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead financial tasks: processing payments, coding time/expenses, resident accounts and collections.
• Oversee payroll, scheduling, benefits, and HR processes; act as in-home SME.
• Manage budgets, monitor spending and review financial reports for variances.
• Maintain compliance with provincial laws, policies, and collective agreements.
• Supervise administrative team; onboard new employees and foster service culture.
• Collaborate with ED, leadership, unions, regional teams and head office.
