Job summary

Extendicare is seeking a Resident Care Manager to lead quality resident care in a Canadian long-term care setting. The role reports to the Director of Care and focuses on planning, directing, and evaluating care while ensuring compliance with standards and regulations.

The position requires strong nursing leadership, experience in geriatrics or related fields, and the ability to manage staff and processes in a multi-union environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in geriatrics, rehabilitation, or long-term care at supervisory/management level.
• Must be a registered nurse with current license or eligible for CRNM/CRPNM.
• Experience in multi-union environments and quality improvement processes.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and evaluate quality resident care.
• Manage nursing staff recruitment, hiring, and discipline in coordination with the Director of Care.
• Oversee staffing, assignments, and replacements across departments.
• Promote interdisciplinary collaboration and resident-centered care.
