Job summary

JUST HR is recruiting a Senior HR Business Partner to support a growing industrial operation with hands-on, on-site HR leadership. This role provides direct support to operational leadership and employees, helping strengthen workplace culture and drive growth at the site.

The successful candidate will bring practical HR experience in industrial, construction, or project-based settings, with strong judgment and credibility.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive HR experience in industrial, construction, resource, or heavy operations environments.
• Experience in employee relations, recruitment, and workforce planning.
• Comfortable working in direct, operational, and technical workplace cultures.
• Strong communication skills to build credibility and trust.
• Understanding of Indigenous community engagement and culturally respectful workplace practices.
• Strong judgment balancing business needs with employee support.
• Ability to work independently with operational leadership.
• CPHR designation or related education is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary on-site HR resource for employees and leaders across multiple operational groups.
• Build trusted relationships with employees, supervisors, and leadership teams.
• Provide guidance on employee relations matters, including performance management, workplace conflict, conduct issues, and terminations.
• Support a positive, accountable, and respectful workplace culture.
• Partner with operational leaders on workforce planning and staffing needs.
• Ensure hiring documentation and approvals are organized and aligned with company standards.
• Support onboarding and consistent HR practices across the site.
• Strengthen relationships with local Indigenous communities and support Indigenous employment initiatives.
• Act as a culturally aware liaison between operations and community stakeholders.
• Ensure HR policies and employment practices are applied consistently across the operation.
• Monitor workforce engagement and proactively identify potential employee concerns.
• Provide ongoing communication and updates to senior HR leadership while operating independently on day-to-day site matters.
