Job summary

NSB Omega is seeking experienced Designers to support offshore projects and engineering activities. Must reside in Canada and be willing to relocate to ST. John’s, NL.

We require 5+ years of offshore design experience across disciplines such as Mechanical, Piping, Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls, Structural, Civil, or related engineering design fields. Offshore field work and rotations are considered assets for candidates.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of offshore design experience
• Experience with offshore facilities, platforms, vessels, FPSOs, or related projects
• Strong understanding of engineering drawings, specs and standards
• Proficiency with relevant design software and tools
• Ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and offshore personnel

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain engineering and design deliverables for offshore projects.
• Produce and update drawings, layouts, models and technical documentation.
• Interpret engineering specifications, project requirements and applicable codes and standards.
• Coordinate with engineers, other design disciplines, project teams and offshore personnel.
• Review existing drawings and documentation and incorporate field changes as required.
• Support design reviews, constructability reviews and technical queries.
• Ensure design work meets project specifications, quality requirements and industry standards.
• Participate in offshore surveys, site visits or field activities as required.

We are looking for experienced design professionals with 5+ years of offshore experience across a variety of disciplines. This is an open opportunity for designers with backgrounds in areas such as Mechanical, Piping, Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls, Structural, Civil, or other relevant engineering design disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain engineering and design deliverables for offshore projects.

Produce and update drawings, layouts, models, and technical documentation.

Interpret engineering specifications, project requirements, and applicable codes and standards.

Coordinate with engineers, other design disciplines, project teams, and offshore personnel.

Review existing drawings and documentation and incorporate field changes as required.

Support design reviews, constructability reviews, and technical queries.

Ensure design work meets project specifications, quality requirements, and applicable industry standards.

Participate in offshore surveys, site visits, or field activities as required.

Qualifications & Experience

5+ years of relevant design experience, preferably within the offshore oil & gas or energy industry.

Experience working on offshore facilities, platforms, vessels, FPSOs, or related offshore projects.

Strong understanding of engineering drawings, specifications, and industry standards.

Proficiency with relevant design software and tools.

Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary engineering and project teams.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Experience with offshore field work or offshore rotations is considered an asset.

Relevant technical diploma, degree, or equivalent industry experience.
