Job summary

NSB Omega is seeking an experienced Project Engineer - Electrical to support Newfoundland and Labrador projects for our Major Utilities Client. The role involves leading technical execution, risk management, and on-site monitoring across remote field locations.

Ideal candidates hold an Electrical Engineering degree, P.Eng registration, and 10+ years of electrical project experience, with strong communication and quality assurance capabilities.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Registered as a professional engineer (P.Eng) with PEGNL (or equivalent).
• 10+ years overseeing project engineering in an electrical environment.
• Experience with project scoping, data gathering, and detailed planning.
• Experience leading risk identifications and mitigations.
• Experience with on-site project monitoring at remote locations.
• Experience designing, managing construction contracts and commissioning.
• Experience with project quality and inspection programs.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to the Project Manager on various projects.
• Perform engineering due diligence for project planning and delivery.
• Facilitate and/or complete project risk management including mitigation.
• Perform project scope verifications, field verifications, data gathering, and planning.
• Review tender packages and approve shop drawings.
• Prepare tender packages and RFPs.
• Provide technical input as a design team member and ensure documentation quality.
• Attend FATs as required and monitor construction activities on-site.

Assignment Description

our Client and its subsidiaries require the services of one individualtojoinitsengineeringandprojectmanagementteam.Theindividualwillsupportthe execution ofprojects throughout Newfoundland and Labrador for our Project Execution Team (Non – Regulated).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• ProvidetechnicalsupporttotheProjectManageronvarious projects;
• Performengineeringduediligenceforprojectplanningand delivery;
• Facilitateand/orcompleteprojectriskmanagementincludingriskidentificationand associated mitigation;
• Perform project scope verifications, field verifications, engineering data gathering, and associated detailed project planning activities;
• Reviewtenderpackagespreparedbyotherconsultantsand contractors;
• Reviewandapproveshopdrawingspreparedbycontractorsand vendors;
• Preparetenderpackagesfor contracts;
• Preparerequestsforproposals (RFPs);
• Providetechnicalinputasadesignteammemberforprojectsandothertechnical documentation;

EDUCATIONANDEXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• EngineeringdegreeinElectrical Engineering.
