Job summary

Scarborough Health Network seeks a Nurse Practitioner for Acute Pain and Preoperative Services to join our interdisciplinary team at the General Site. The NP will provide direct patient care, coordinate preoperative assessment, and support pain management for both adult and pediatric patients.

Reporting to the Manager of Professional Practice, the role emphasizes leadership in implementing Best Practice Guideline and educating colleagues, with opportunities to contribute to quality improvement

Qualifications

• Master of Science in Nursing and NP education program completed.
• Current Extended Class registration with CNO in good standing.
• BCLS and ACLS certifications current.
• Active memberships in RNAO/OPANA/ORNAC.
• Surgical experience and NP practice history preferred.
• Strong communication and interprofessional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care, consultation and coordination in acute pain and preoperative services.
• Lead implementation of Best Practice Guideline and knowledge translation.
• Educate and support interprofessional team and learners.
• Assess, diagnose, treat and prescribe within RN extended class scope.
• Engage in quality improvement, program development and evaluation.
• Participate in research activities with the interprofessional team.
