Scarborough Health Network (SHN) is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse for the Surgical Specialty Clinic at the Centenary Site. The successful candidate will assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care in a multidisciplinary, family-centred environment.

The RPN provides high-quality care for patients with chronic wound, surgical and ostomy needs, maintains aseptic technique, administers medications, monitors vital signs and documents in line with College of Nurses of Ontario standards.

Competenze

• Current certification with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• Perioperative Certificate.
• Wound Care and skin care Certificate from a recognized institution.
• Competent in CPR at Basic Life Support level.
• Health assessment course or equivalent experience.
• Current/recent (minimum 3 years) surgical and wound care nursing experience.
• Excellent communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgement.
• Demonstrated knowledge of current BPG in wound/ostomy care.
• Demonstrated pattern of good attendance and work record.

Mansioni

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care and practice activities in a multidisciplinary family-centred care environment.
• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients with chronic wound, surgical and ostomy needs using the nursing process.
• Maintain aseptic technique in a minor procedure environment and care for specialized instruments.
• Provide personal patient care, monitor vital signs, perform physical assessments, administer medications, monitor IVs, and set up equipment.
• Document per College of Nurses of Ontario Standards.
