Job summary

Scarborough Health Network (SHN) is seeking a Nurse Practitioner for the Acute Pain Service at our General Site. The role includes direct patient care, consultation, and coordination of preoperative and acute pain services for adults and children.

Reporting to Professional Practice, you will lead implementation of BPSO guidelines, educate the interprofessional team, and advance evidence-based pain management across SHN with a focus on quality improvement and patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Master of Science in Nursing (MScN) and NP education completed.
• Current registration in the RN/NP Extended Class with CNO.
• Active memberships in professional organizations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and consult in acute pain and preoperative services.
• Collaborate with anaesthesiology, surgical and practice teams.
• Lead implementation of BPSO guidelines and knowledge translation.
• Educate interprofessional teams and develop standards of care for pain management.
• Coordinate preoperative care in the Pre-Admission Clinic.
• Evaluate and improve pain management programs and outcomes.
• Deliver patient- and family-centered care and research activities as appropriate.
