Learn more at shn.caJob Description:Position Overview:Reporting to the Manager of Professional Practice, the Nurse Practitioner (NP), Acute Pain and Preoperative Services (APS), is a member of the interdisciplinary team and works closely with anaesthesiology, surgical, and professional practice teams. The NP provides direct patient care, consultation and coordinates preoperative care in the Pre-Admission Clinic and acute pain services for adult and paediatric populations. The role also leads the implementation of the Best Practice Spotlight Organization (BPSO) Best Practice Guideline (BPG) and advances pain-related knowledge translation across SHN. Based primarily at the General Hospital, the NP provides consultative services at the other SHN hospitals as needed.SHN NPs function in an expanded role demonstrating a high level of autonomy and expert skill to support the care needs of the patients and to educate and disseminate evidence-based practices for pain management.
