Job summary

METLEN Energy & Metals in Canada seeks a Head of Development to grow the renewables portfolio across Canada and the USA, leading two development teams and driving acquisitions, greenfield projects and progress from concept to construction.

You will coordinate business development and project development activities, manage stakeholders, and steer strategic negotiations with investors, developers and government bodies, while ensuring timely delivery, rigorous risk management and alignment with

Qualifications

Minimum of 10 years in the power industry with senior management experience.
Degree in Engineering / Economics / Business; MBA or similar is a plus.
Experience in acquisition due diligence and interfacing with internal SMEs.

Responsibilities

Grow the renewables portfolio in North America, focusing on Canada, through acquisitions and greenfield projects.
Lead two development teams: Business Development (M&A, partnerships, financial modeling) and Project Development (greenfielding, permitting, interconnection).
Originating opportunities by building relationships with bankers, advisors and developers.
Lead deal processes from origination to execution and due diligence.
Develop and present investment theses to Country Manager Canada and committees.
