Job description

Network Analyst
Burnaby, British Columbia

When you join our team as a Network Analyst, you will focus on network infrastructure administration and operations to ensure a stable environment and maximize network availability. Working as part of the IT Infrastructure and OT team, this role handles network-related escalations, requests, and assigned projects. The candidate will take a collaborative approach to problem-solving while engaging with internal customers and external vendors to ensure efficient delivery of infrastructure services.

The successful candidate must be available to work extended hours outside of regular business hours and travel up to 40% as needed. Travel requirements include a valid driver's license, a personal credit or debit card for reimbursable expenses, and the ability to rent a car, fly, and drive to all Interfor locations across the US and Canada.

What You’ll Do
  1. Monitor network infrastructure performance, identify issues, and implement solutions to maintain optimal functionality.
  2. Provide technical support to end-users and handle escalations related to network issues.
  3. Perform network troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose problems.
  4. Install, replace, and manage network hardware, including switches, routers, firewalls, and Wi-Fi equipment.
  5. Create and maintain documentation for network configurations and procedures.
  6. Ensure network consistency, reliability, and recoverability.
  7. Follow corporate change management procedures to maintain effective control over network changes.
  8. Assist in evaluating and selecting network hardware and software.
  9. Use the IT ticketing system to track and manage incidents, escalations, and requests.
  10. Collaborate with team members, departments, and vendors to analyze network requirements and ensure the infrastructure aligns with organizational needs.
  11. Participate in rotational after-hours support.
What You Offer
  1. 8-10 years of experience in network administration or related role.
  2. Cisco Certification CCNA required; CCNP preferred.
  3. Industry Certification(s) (Palo Alto, Cisco, Fortinet, Network+ etc.) preferred.
  4. Experience with Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet, HPE, Aruba, Dell, Unifi devices is preferred.
  5. University degree or diploma in Information Technology or equivalent.
  6. Basic knowledge and understanding of ITIL framework.
  7. Experience in manufacturing industry preferred.
  8. Strong understanding of network protocols and services (e.g., DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP).
  9. Knowledge of network switching, routing, and protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP, VLAN).
  10. Working knowledge of Wi-Fi technology, including channels, frequencies, and authentication methods.
  11. Solid understanding of network mediums (copper, fiber, wireless).
  12. Hands-on experience configuring and managing firewalls, switches, and routers in an enterprise environment.
  13. Familiarity with monitoring tools and proactive network maintenance strategies.
  14. Strong understanding of the network architecture lifecycle (Prepare, Plan, Design, Implement, Operate, and Optimize).
  15. Project management skills related to network deployments, upgrades, and routine maintenance.
  16. Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and customer service skills.
  17. Ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative and dynamic team environment.
  18. Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal).
  19. Analytical mindset with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  20. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  21. Commitment to continuous learning and staying current with industry trends through research, education, and vendor resources.

What We Offer

Interfor has posted the following expected salary range that the company believes in good faith could be offered to successful candidates. The salary offered is benchmarked to current market conditions and will also be based on numerous factors which can include work experience, skills, credentials, education, and other relevant factors. In addition to a competitive salary, you will receive a competitive benefits package and be able to participate in our Short-Term Incentive Bonus plan, with the payout amount subject to individual and corporate performance. If you have any questions regarding our salary range or our total compensation package, our recruitment team will be happy to advise you on what you can expect from us.

Expected range: $72,000 – $90,000 (CAD) per year
