Job summary

Royal York Property Management in Thorold, Ontario seeks dependable handyworkers to perform general residential maintenance and repairs at rental properties. You will travel between sites using your own vehicle and a mobile work app to manage tasks.

The role requires 2+ years of related experience, own tools and equipment, a basic command of English, and the ability to work independently with GPS-enabled scheduling.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of paid handyman, property maintenance, construction, renovation, or related experience
• Ability to complete common residential maintenance tasks independently
• Must have your own reliable vehicle
• Must have your own tools and equipment required for general maintenance work
• Must have your own suitable smartphone capable of using GPS, work apps, taking photos, and submitting job updates
• Basic English communication skills
• Reliable, punctual, and comfortable with GPS-confirmed appointments
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Responsibilities

• Complete general residential maintenance and repair work
• Perform property inspections and preventative maintenance
• Install and remove lockboxes
• Replace HVAC filters and complete routine maintenance tasks
• Repair doors, locks, faucets, toilets, light fixtures, blinds, shelving, hardware, smoke detectors, and other common residential fixtures
• Assemble and install household items when required
• Take clear photos and complete digital inspection reports
• Report maintenance concerns and recommend additional repairs when necessary
• Use our mobile work app to receive work orders, navigate using GPS, upload photos, and update job statuses
• Travel between appointments using your own vehicle
