On-Call Field Handyworker – Residential Maintenance

Job summary

Royal York Property Management is seeking dependable Handyworkers to join our growing network of maintenance professionals. You will travel to residential rental properties across Ontario to complete a wide range of maintenance, repair, inspection and installation tasks, working independently while using our mobile work app to manage appointments and update completed work.

We value reliable, punctual hands-on professionals with own vehicle and tools, basic English and GPS-friendly smartphones.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of paid handyman, property maintenance, construction, renovation, or related experience.
• Ability to complete common residential maintenance tasks independently.
• Must have your own reliable vehicle.
• Must have your own tools and equipment required for general maintenance work.
• Must have your own suitable smartphone capable of GPS, work app, photos, and updates.
• Basic English communication skills.
• Reliable, punctual, and comfortable with GPS-confirmed appointments.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Complete general residential maintenance and repair work
• Perform property inspections and preventative maintenance
• Install and remove lockboxes
• Replace HVAC filters and complete routine maintenance tasks
• Repair doors, locks, faucets, toilets, light fixtures, blinds, shelving, hardware, smoke detectors, and other common residential fixtures
• Assemble and install household items when required
• Take clear photos and complete digital inspection reports
• Report maintenance concerns and recommend additional repairs when necessary
• Use our mobile work app to receive work orders, navigate using GPS, upload photos, and update job statuses
• Travel between appointments using your own vehicle
