Job summary

Royal York Property Management is seeking a dependable Handyworker to join our maintenance network across Ontario. This on-call contract role involves traveling to residential rental properties to perform a wide range of maintenance, repair, and inspection tasks using our mobile work app.

You will work independently, carry your own tools and vehicle, and document completed work with photos and digital reports while ensuring GPS-guided scheduling and timely updates.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of paid handyman, property maintenance, construction, renovation, or related experience.
• Ability to complete common residential maintenance tasks independently.
• Must have your own reliable vehicle.
• Must have your own tools and equipment required for general maintenance work.
• Must have your own suitable smartphone capable of using GPS, work apps, taking photos, and submitting job updates.
• Basic English communication skills.
• Reliable, punctual, and comfortable with GPS-confirmed appointments.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Complete general residential maintenance and repair work.
• Perform property inspections and preventative maintenance.
• Install and remove lockboxes.
• Replace HVAC filters and routine maintenance tasks.
• Repair doors, locks, faucets, toilets, light fixtures, blinds, shelving, hardware, smoke detectors, and other common residential fixtures.
• Assemble and install household items when required.
• Take clear photos and complete digital inspection reports.
• Report maintenance concerns and recommend additional repairs when necessary.
• Use our mobile work app to receive work orders, navigate using GPS, upload photos, and update job statuses.
• Travel between appointments using your own vehicle.
