On-Call Handyworker: Flexible Residential Maintenance

Job summary

Royal York Property Management is seeking dependable Handyworkers to perform a wide range of maintenance tasks at residential properties in Caledon, Ontario. You will travel between locations using your own vehicle and use a mobile work app to manage work orders and document updates.

The role requires a minimum of 2 years of paid handyman or related experience, own tools and smartphone, and basic English communication.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of paid handyman, property maintenance, construction, renovation, or related experience.
• Ability to complete common residential maintenance tasks independently.
• Must have your own reliable vehicle.
• Must have your own tools and equipment.
• Must have your own suitable smartphone capable of using GPS, work apps, taking photos, and submitting job updates.
• Basic English communication skills.
• Reliable, punctual, and comfortable with GPS-confirmed appointments.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Complete general residential maintenance and repair work.
• Perform property inspections and preventative maintenance.
• Install and remove lockboxes.
• Replace HVAC filters and complete routine maintenance tasks.
• Repair doors, locks, faucets, toilets, light fixtures, blinds, shelving, hardware, smoke detectors, and other common residential fixtures.
• Assemble and install household items when required.
• Take clear photos and complete digital inspection reports.
• Report maintenance concerns and recommend additional repairs when necessary.
• Use our mobile work app to receive work orders, navigate using GPS, upload photos, and update job statuses.
• Travel between appointments using your own vehicle.
