Job summary

Discovery Kidd is seeking a Mine Surveyor for our Kidd Operations. Reporting to the Production Engineering Coordinator, you will provide underground mine surveying and engineering/operations support in an underground environment, ensuring safe, accurate, and cost-effective production.

The ideal candidate holds a Technician or Technologist diploma in mining, has hands-on experience with underground surveying equipment (total stations, CMS scanners, Boretrak), CAD (Amine), and strong communication

Qualifications

• A Technician or Technologist diploma in mining or related trades.
• Experience with underground surveying techniques and equipment, including total stations, void/CMS scanners, hole surveying (Boretrak), and relevant software
• Advanced computer skills with emphasis on CAD (Amine)
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and decision-making skills
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Experience with construction and project surveying would be considered an asset
• Familiarity or interest in modern mining technology and instrumentation (automated controls, mobile devices, UAVs etc.) would also be considered an asset

• Carrying out measurements, calculations, designs, inspections, and generating relevant drawings with an emphasis on in-field troubleshooting, problem solving, and incorporating technology into daily tasks.

The Position:

Reporting to the Production Engineering Coordinator, the Mine Surveyor is accountable for providing underground mine surveying and Mine Engineering / Operations Support in an underground environment, ensuring safe, and cost-effective production. The successful candidate will be a technology-orientated individual that will work in the areas of survey quality control and quality assurance, capable of working independently as well as with a team of technicians, technologists, engineers, and production personnel. Survey responsibilities include carrying out measurements, calculations, designs, inspections, and generating relevant drawings with an emphasis on in-field troubleshooting, problem solving, and incorporating technology into their daily tasks.

Compensation and Benefits:

Competitive total compensation package including:

• Annual compensation of CAD$70,000 to CAD$87,000
