Job summary

Discovery Kidd invites applications for a Mine Engineer in Training. This entry-level role offers hands-on exposure in mine design, scheduling, long-term planning, ground control, and related systems, under the Mine Technical Services Supervisor.

You will support engineering functions, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to safety, production, and cost targets while pursuing professional engineering designation.

Qualifications

• A degree in Mining Engineering from a recognized institution.
• 1–2 years of relevant experience, including co‑op or internship placements.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD or equivalent mining design software.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with Deswik, MineRP, or other mine planning and scheduling systems (asset).
• Familiarity with database management, data analytics, and dashboarding tools (asset).

The Position

Reporting to the Mine Technical Services Supervisor, the successful candidate will gain valuable hands‑on experience in various aspects of mine engineering and contribute meaningfully to our operational success. This role offers exposure to multiple technical areas, including Mine Design, Scheduling, Long-Term Planning, Ground Control, and Mine Systems. The EIT will provide technical support within their designated area and accumulate the experience required for a professional engineering designation.

Key Responsibilities

Compensation And Benefits

Competitive total compensation package including:
