Job summary

Discovery Kidd is seeking an Operations Technologist to support mine operations in managing key projects and improving operational technology at our Kidd Operations. The role reports to the Mine Operations Superintendent and focuses on cost reporting, planning, and contractor management in a dynamic mining environment.

Qualifications

• Mine Engineering Technician or Technologist Diploma.
• 2 years mine operations experience.
• Strong computer and technology skillset; coding experience considered an asset.
• Experience managing projects and contractor management.

Responsibilities

• Accurate cost reporting for mine operations projects.
• Planning and ordering for key components and tasks within operation projects.
• Developing and maintaining operational technology improvements.
• Technical and operational support for various underground mining processes.
• Contractor contact and management duties.
• Lead and support various process improvement projects within operational team.
• Promote health, safety, environment and community objectives for employees and contractors.

The Position

Reporting to a Mine Operations Superintendent, the Operations Technologist will be required to complete tasks to ensure the efficient management of key projects within the mine operations department.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurate cost reporting for mine operations projects.
• Planning and ordering for key components and tasks within operation projects.
• Developing and maintaining operational technology improvements.

• Contractor contact and management duties.

Compensation and Benefits

Competitive total compensation package including:

• Company contributions and matching into a Defined Contribution Pension Plan; and
• Annual compensation of CAD$63,000 to CAD$80,000.
