Job summary

Hilton Foods Canada is hiring an Industrial Millwright for on-site maintenance in a food manufacturing environment. The role requires a 4-year apprenticeship, valid 433A license, and 3–5 years of millwright experience. Expect work on conveyors, pumps, and sanitary equipment with CMMS documentation and strict safety compliance.

Successful candidates will perform preventive and corrective maintenance, interpret drawings, and coordinate with electricians and automation staff.

Qualifications

• Completion of secondary school required.
• Completion of a 4-year Industrial Mechanic Millwright apprenticeship.
• Valid Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) license (433A).
• 3–5 years of millwright experience preferred; food manufacturing experience is an asset.
• Experience with conveyors, pumps, packaging machinery, and sanitary equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and schematic drawings to determine work procedures and parts requirements.
• Install, align, dismantle, and repair machinery such as pumps, conveyors, mixers, grinders, slicers.
• Inspect and examine machinery to detect and investigate malfunctions to improve production yield.
• Use specialized tools such as welders, hydraulic bolters, and cutting equipment as per job requirement.
• Provide support in troubleshooting mechanical control systems in conjunction with electrician, automation technician etc.
• Perform predictive maintenance using techniques such as vibration analysis and precision measurements.
• Ensure compliance with workplace safety, food‑safety standards, and environmental regulations.
• Complete preventative maintenance and corrective work orders, maintenance logs, and documentation accurately in the CMMS.
• Operate hoisting and lifting devices such as cranes and jacks safely as per the job requirement.
• Follow lockout/tagout procedures and maintain safe work practices.
