Job summary

MTtalent is seeking a Licensed Millwright for a heavy-duty manufacturing setting in Bradford, ON. You will read blueprints, troubleshoot complex machinery, and perform preventative and corrective maintenance to keep production running at peak efficiency.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in high-volume maintenance, 433A license (or 4th Year Apprentice), and willingness to certify for forklift and overhead crane. Expect rotating continental shifts and a collaborative, safety-focused team environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on maintenance in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
• 433A Licensed Millwright or 4th Year Apprentice; Red Seal is an advantage.
• Forklift license or experience; willing to certify.
• Overhead Crane Operator license or experience; willing to certify.
• Proficient in reading blueprints/drawings; PLC troubleshooting experience.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and drawings to determine work procedures.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical equipment failures with corrective actions.
• Analyze test results and operator feedback to identify equipment issues.
• Repair, replace, and adjust defective machinery components.
• Disassemble/reassemble machinery for inspections, maintenance, and overhauls.
• Operate repaired machinery to verify proper function and meet requirements.
• Operate machine shop equipment to fabricate/modify parts as needed.
• Assemble and install machinery using tools and welding equipment.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure safety and reliability.
• Operate lifting equipment as required for maintenance tasks.
• Identify and report non-conformances and safety concerns to Maintenance Manager.
• Maintain maintenance records and CMMS documentation.

Location: Bradford, ON

Reports to: Maintenance Manager

Industry: Heavy Industrial Manufacturing

Hours: Continental rotation 5 am – 5:30 pm and 5:30 pm – 5:00 am

Here’s what you will do:

• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine appropriate work procedures.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical equipment failures, implementing effective corrective actions.
• Analyze test results, machine error messages, and operator feedback to accurately identify equipment issues.
• Repair, replace, and adjust defective or malfunctioning machinery components.
• Disassemble and reassemble machinery and equipment to facilitate inspections, repairs, overhauls, and maintenance.
• Operate newly repaired machinery and equipment to verify proper functionality and ensure repairs meet operational requirements.
• Operate machine shop equipment, including grinders, drill presses, and saws, to fabricate or modify parts required for maintenance, overhauls, and equipment setup.
• Assemble and install machinery and equipment using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance to maintain the safe and reliable operation of industrial production and processing equipment.
• Operate lifting equipment as required to safely complete maintenance and repair activities.
• Identify and report equipment non-conformances, safety concerns, and other irregularities to the Maintenance Manager.
• Maintain detailed and accurate maintenance records, work orders, and documentation using the company’s computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).

Here’s what we’re looking for and what you will need to succeed:

• 5+ years of hands-on Maintenance experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment
• 433A Licensed Millwright or 4th Year Apprentice. Red Seal Millwright is an advantage.
• Forklift license or experience with willingness to become certified
• Overhead Crane Operator license or experience with willingness to become certified
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial machinery including basic skills with PLC troubleshooting
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints/drawings
• Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and evolving environment
• Strong oral and written communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work in a physically demanding environment (lifting, moving materials, going up ladders, crouching, etc.)
• Ability and willingness to learn, curiosity, positive attitude and commitment to getting the job done right in a timely manner
• Reliable and committed with good attendance record
• Computer proficient: MS Office, CMMS
• High regard for health and safety and commitment to always following company and safety policies and procedures
• Excellent attention to detail, highly organized, and strong multi-tasking abilities
• Experience using a variety of hand and power tools. Welding or fabrication experience is an asset.
• Capable of working in heights, and confined spaces
• Ability to work outdoors at times is required
