Job summary

Hilton Foods Canada seeks an Industrial Electrician to install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair electrical and electronic systems in our highly automated production facility. You will ensure production reliability, regulatory compliance and safe operation of control systems.

The role requires reading electrical drawings, installing motors and sensors, troubleshooting PLCs/ HMIs, and performing preventative maintenance.

Qualifications

• Ontario Electrician license (442A) or 309A is required.
• Completion of an approved apprenticeship program.
• Strong knowledge of industrial automation and control systems.
• Ability to read electrical drawings, schematics and codes.
• Experience with food manufacturing equipment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics to install/commission equipment.
• Install, maintain, test and repair motors, sensors, VFDs, and automation gear.
• Troubleshoot HMIs, PLCs and electrical control systems on production lines.
• Perform root-cause analysis to reduce downtime and improve reliability.
• Ensure compliance with electrical codes and food-safety standards.
• Document maintenance activities in CMMS and ESA logbook.
• Follow lockout/tagout and plant safety procedures.

Job Title: Industrial Electrician

Salary Range: CAD$38.00–CAD$43.50

Working Type: On-Site

The Licensed Industrial Electrician will beresponsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairingelectrical and electronics systems in a highly automated Hilton Foodsproduction facility. This role ensures production reliability, regulatorycompliance, and safe operation of all electrical and control systems.

KEYACCOUNTABILITIES

• Readand interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, schematics and codespecifications to install and operationalize industrial equipment.
• Install,maintain, test, and repair electric motors, sensors, servo drive, variablefrequency drive and automated equipment used in food processing.
• Troubleshoot HMIs, PLC ladder logic, electrical and electronic control systems, including PLC‑based automation used on production lines.
• Siemens/AllenBradly PLC experience is highly desirable.
• Performroot‑cause analysis to reduce downtime and improve reliability.
• Inspectproduction equipment for wear, malfunction risks, and compliance with food‑safetyelectrical standards.
• Ensureall work complies with the Canadian Electrical Code and internal food‑safetystandards. (ISO, HACCP)
• Completepreventative maintenance and corrective work orders, maintenance logs, anddocumentation accurately in the computerized maintenance management system(CMMS).
• Maintainand update the site ESA logbook.
• Ensureelectrical systems meet food‑plant sanitation and safety requirements.
• Followlockout/tagout, arc‑flash, and plant safety procedures.

KEY EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

• Completion of secondary school required.
• Valid Industrial Electrician (442A) or Construction & Maintenance (309A) license in province of Ontario.
• Completion of an approved apprenticeship program.
• Strong knowledge of industrial automation, PLCs, sensors, and control systems.
• Ability to read electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
• Familiarity with food‑manufacturing equipment such as conveyors, packaging systems, chillers, mixers, grinders, slicers, batching systems, etc.
• 3–5 years of industrial or manufacturing electrician experience preferred.
• Food manufacturing experience considered a strong asset.
• Ability to stand for long periods, bend, twist, and perform repetitive motions.
• Comfortable working in hot, cold, high paced and/or noisy environments.
• Ability to lift materials (up to 50 lbs), work at heights, and operate tools safely.
