Job summary

Gilder Search Group in Colborne, ON is seeking an Industrial Millwright – Maintenance Technician to support preventative and corrective maintenance and production operations. You will repair equipment, perform pipe fitting, welding, and mechanical maintenance, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate has a Certificate of Qualification as an Industrial Millwright and 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience, with strong troubleshooting and mechanical skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; Technical/College Diploma preferred.
• Certificate of Qualification as an Industrial Millwright Mechanic required.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant industrial maintenance experience.
• Knowledge of provincial/federal environmental and health & safety legislation.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and execute the facility's preventative maintenance program and complete corrective repairs as required.
• Support maintenance and production teams to ensure safety, housekeeping, product quality, efficiency, service and cost control.
• Troubleshoot, repair, replace, and fabricate mechanical and electrical equipment, including pumps, valves, hoses and related machinery.
• Perform mechanical maintenance, machinery repair, pipe fitting, plumbing, welding and other millwright duties.
• Maintain the facility, buildings and property in accordance with standards and regulations.
• Monitor contractors to ensure safe work and regulatory compliance.
• Maintain accurate records of equipment inspections, maintenance activities and repairs.
• Participate in the facility's on-call program once knowledge of equipment and processes is established.

Position Summary

Our client is seeking a skilled Industrial Millwright to support maintenance and production operations at their Colborne facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for preventative and corrective maintenance, equipment repairs, facility upkeep, contractor oversight, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.

Primary Responsibilities

• Maintain and execute the facility’s preventative maintenance program and complete corrective repairs as required.
• Support maintenance and production teams to ensure high standards of safety, housekeeping, product quality, efficiency, service, and cost control.
• Troubleshoot, repair, replace, and fabricate mechanical and electrical equipment, including pumps, valves, hoses, and related machinery.

Qualifications & Requirements

• High School Diploma required; Technical/College Diploma preferred.
• Certificate of Qualification as an Industrial Millwright Mechanic required.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant industrial maintenance experience.
• Strong experience in several of the following areas:
  • Industrial machinery maintenance
  • Mechanical repair
  • Pipe fitting
  • Plumbing
  • Welding
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Knowledge of applicable provincial/federal environmental, occupational health and safety legislation.
• Ability to read and interpret technical specifications, manuals, drawings, and equipment documentation.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Excellent time management, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and respond effectively to maintenance issues.
