Job summary

Sofina Foods Inc. in Etobicoke, Ontario, is seeking a Licensed Industrial Mechanic Millwright (433A) to join our Humberline Plant team. You will maintain and repair production equipment to ensure safe, efficient operations and minimize downtime.

Qualifications

• Valid Ontario 433A Certificate of Qualification.
• Experience as Industrial Mechanic Millwright in manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings,h manuals and schematics.
• Legally eligible to work in Canada and able to communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative, predictive, corrective, and emergency maintenance on plant equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and conveying systems.
• Install, modify, and commission new equipment and machinery.
• Maintain and service production and packaging equipment to minimize downtime.
• Complete work orders and maintenance records using CMMS.

Shift Time

Day shift - 5:00A - 1:30P

What we have to offer

Main Duties:

• Adhere to all company safety policies, procedures, and regulations to maintain a safe working environment
• Perform preventative, predictive, corrective, and emergency maintenance on plant equipment
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and conveying systems
• Maintain and service production and packaging equipment to minimize downtime
• Install, modify, and commission new equipment and machinery
• Perform precision maintenance tasks, including alignment, fitting, and equipment rebuilds
• Conduct welding and fabrication work, including TIG welding as required
• Prioritize and manage multiple maintenance requests in a fast-paced environment
• Complete work orders and maintenance records using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)
• Track parts usage, inventory, and labour associated with maintenance activities
• Follow verbal and written work instructions and implement corrective actions as required
• Collaborate effectively with production personnel, maintenance team members, and contractors.
• Other duties as required

Equipment and Systems Experience:

Experience maintaining and repairing the following equipment is considered an asset:

• Conveyors and material handling systems
• Pumps and motors
• Grinders and processing equipment
• Packaging machinery
• Hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Fans and blowers
• Welding and fabrication equipment
• Industrial power tools and maintenance equipment

Requirements:

• Valid Ontario 433A Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Certificate of Qualification
• Proven experience as an Industrial Mechanic Millwright in a manufacturing environment
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and schematics
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Must be legally authorized to work in Canada
• Must be able to communicate effectively in English

Preferred:

• Experience in food manufacturing, meat processing, or other regulated production environments
• TIG welding experience
• Experience with CMMS software and maintenance documentation systems
