The Kelowna General Hospital Laboratory is our largest and most specialized 24/7 lab and progressive teaching facility. The Lab consists of hundreds of team members who work collaboratively in a variety of disciplines such as Phlebotomy, Accession, Chemistry, Hematology, Transfusion Medicine, Microbiology, Histology and Molecular. As a Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT), you will work independently in a team‑based environment and perform a variety of duties within the Lab disciplines. Typical duties may include performing routine and/or complex tests utilizing manual procedures and automated instruments, collecting and/or receiving specimens, entering data into the LIS, validating/reporting test results, troubleshooting, maintaining instruments and preparing solutions and control agents.
Casual means hours are not guaranteed and may vary and shifts may be at short notice. Casual employees are eligible to apply for internal postings including permanent and temporary positions.
