Interior Health Authority in Grand Forks, BC, is seeking an experienced Medical Laboratory Assistant to join Boundary Hospital's Laboratory team for a relief part-time position (0.80 FTE).

You will take blood samples, prepare specimens for analysis, enter data into the LIS, operate related equipment, and perform ECG testing as required in a fast-paced, collaborative hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a hospital laboratory environment preferred.
• Ability to take blood samples and prepare specimens for analysis.
• Familiarity with Laboratory Information System (LIS) data entry.

About The Job

Boundary Hospital is a 12-bed community hospital where a large team of healthcare professionals facilitate a range of interdisciplinary health services including 24/5 Emergency, medical and surgical services, community health programming as well as Laboratory and X-Ray.

Medical Laboratory Assistants performs a variety of duties within the Laboratory such as taking blood samples from patients, preparing blood and other specimens for analysis, distributing specimens to Laboratory departments and outside Laboratories, operating related equipment, entering data into the Laboratory Information System (LIS) and performing related clerical duties. They shall also perform ECG testing as required.

This is a Relief Part Time (0.80) opportunity until return of the incumbent.

Shifts of work will be scheduled day shifts.
