Job summary

Interior Health Authority in Lytton, BC is seeking an experienced Medical Laboratory Assistant to join the Medical Laboratory Department at Lytton Health Services. This permanent part-time role (0.50) features day shifts Monday to Friday with weekends off and a supportive, team-focused environment.

Duties include taking blood and specimens, preparing samples for analysis, performing routine tests, handling LIS data entry and related clerical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Taking blood and specimens from patients.
• Preparing blood and other specimens for analysis.
• Performing routine laboratory tests.
• Distributing specimens to departments and outside labs.
• Operating related equipment in the lab.
• Entering data into the Laboratory Information System (LIS).
• Performing related clerical duties.

About The Job

Medical Laboratory Assistants perform a variety of duties such as taking blood and specimen samples from patients, preparing blood and other specimens for analysis, performing routine lab tests, distributing specimens to departments and outside Labs, operating related equipment, entering data into the Laboratory Information System (LIS) and performing related clerical duties.

This is a Permanent Part Time (0.50) opportunity.

Shifts of work will be scheduled day shifts Monday to Friday with weekends and stats off.
