Are you a Mechanical Reliability Engineer looking for an exciting new opportunity? We’re recruiting a Mechanical Engineer at our Fort Hills site.

Minimum Requirements
  • 3 years’ experience in the oil & gas/mining industry with preference toward Tailings – Maintenance Engineering
  • Undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Registered or immediately eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) and in good standing.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, responsibilities and projects while maintaining high quality work.
  • Strong interpersonal, time management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a functional environment.
  • Share your engineering knowledge with other team members and be eager to learn from colleagues.
  • Success applying ASME and API standards including ASME B16 Series, B31.3, B31.4, Section VIII – Div 1 & 2 and API 579. Additional consideration given for API 610 and 682 use.
  • Familiarity with metallic and non-metallic materials used in slurry transport.
Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct field walkdowns.
  • Develop piping scopes, drawings, and bills of materials (BOM)
  • Respond to RFIs and technical questions from operations, supply chain, and vendors
  • Support root cause analysis (RCA) investigations and implement corrective actions
  • Develop spare parts requirements and post‑LSD replenishment
  • Develop and manage MOCs for Coarse Tailings, Fine Tailings, Drainage, and Wells
  • Prepare SOWs for shutdowns, lifts, and spool changes
  • Support Tailings Reliability in asset performance analytics (e.g., wear rates, service life)
Location and other Key Details
  • The shift schedule is a 7 days on / 7 days off rotation; 12-hour shifts
  • You will work out of our camp-based Fort Hills mining site, located in Alberta’s Athabasca region, 90 kilometers north of Fort McMurray, Alberta on a FIFO (Fly-in Fly-out) from Calgary or Edmonton or BIBO (Bus-in-Bus-out) for Fort McMurray residents.
