Job summary

Responsibilities

• Lead the Meat Department Team in alignment with the Co-op's vision, mission, values, and brand.
• Manage the Meat Department per company policies, programs, and merchandising standards.
• Recruit, train, coach, and motivate the Meat Department team to achieve results.
• Ensure all products are fresh and meet quality and safety standards.
• Conduct team performance reviews and development plans.
• Manage inventory levels and lead regular inventory procedures.
• Develop sales promotions to grow the meat business.
• Maintain confidentiality around pricing, financial, and marketing strategies.

What you'll do:

• Lead the Meat Department Team in a manner that demonstrates day-to-day behaviors that align with and strengthen the Co-operatives vision, mission, values, and brand.
• Manage the Meat Department in accordance with the company policies, procedures, programs, merchandising standards, and overall expectations.
• Recruit, train, develop, coach, and motivate the Meat Department team while fostering a positive work environment that enables the engagement of all team members in the pursuit of desired results.
• Ensures that all products are fresh and meet company quality and safety standards.
• Perform team performance reviews and action plans for development.
• Manage inventory levels and lead scheduled inventory procedures.
• Develop sales promotion programs to grow the meat business.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding pricing, financial and marketing strategies.
• Develop and administer action plans to achieve the desired results of the business plan.
• Provide leadership and direction in the development and achievement of operational and financial results
• Other duties as assigned.

Who you are:

• Must have a minimum 1-3 years experience managing/supervising others.
• Previous retail or meat department experience is an asset.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and the ability to manage computer files efficiently.
