Job summary

Central Saskatchewan Co-operative's Lanigan Food Store is seeking a full-time Meat Cutter to join our team.

You will cut, trim and prepare meats, work with fresh seafood as needed, and deliver friendly, knowledgeable service to our customers while upholding food-safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 education required.
  • 1–3 years of meat experience preferred.
  • Willing to work all shifts including days, evenings, holidays and weekends.
  • Physically able to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and kneel.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional service to guests and customers.
  • Order, receive, inspect, store, and prepare meats and seafood as needed.
  • Maintain compliance with health, safety and sanitation standards.
  • Perform general housekeeping and monitor refrigeration temperatures.
  • Provide information and assistance to customers.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What you'll do:
  • You will be responsible for delivering exceptional service to make all guests of our Co-op feel at home here.
  • Effective ordering, receiving, inspections, storage, and preparation and handling of meats and/or fish and seafood and supplies.
  • Maintaining and ensure compliance with Humboldt co-op standards and government food and sanitation health and safety standards.
  • General housekeeping duties to ensure all areas of responsibility are safe, organized, and clean, including sharpening equipment and monitoring refrigeration temperature within all food safety standards and guidelines.
  • Be responsible for providing information, assistance, and exceptional customer service to all customers.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Who you are:

You are interested in a career in the Meat Department and:

  • Have a grade 12 education.
  • Have 1-3 years of relevant meat experience (a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered).
  • You're honest and trustworthy, are results-oriented and strive to be the best in what you do
  • You are willing to work all shifts scheduled including days, evenings, holidays and weekends
  • You believe in building relationships and collaborating to deliver solutions that matter most, and you recognize the value that different perspectives bring to meet shared objectives
  • You are physically able to do heavy lifting of 50lbs, climb ladders and kneel
