Job summary

Aston Carter is seeking a Buyer to join our Edmonton, AB procurement team on a contract basis. The role focuses on maintaining purchase order integrity, supplier compliance, and supporting the procurement lifecycle from creation to receipt of orders.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in buying/procurement, ERP experience, and strong Excel skills. This onsite Edmonton position emphasizes collaboration with quality and vendor teams and effective inventory management.

Qualifications

2+ years of procurement experience with suppliers and PO management.
Experience using ERP systems.
Intermediate Excel skills (pivot tables & formulas).

Responsibilities

Generate, issue, review, and receive purchase orders and requisitions for material orders.
Maintain PO integrity in alignment with ERP systems and manage exception messages.
Collaborate with supplier quality assurance to ensure vendors meet the Quality Management System.
Provide vendor management to ensure material orders meet customer requirements and delivery expectations.
Communicate inbound and outbound shipment statuses and identify delays.
Distribute procurement information and coordinate material movements.
Adhere to material spend and inventory goals.
Identify new suppliers and foster long-term relationships.
Monitor inventory levels and determine purchasing demands.
