Job summary

3 Step Recruitment Inc. is conducting a search for a senior Supply Chain/Procurement Manager to lead strategic sourcing, supplier management and international procurement from our Edmonton operations.

This on-site, 18-month contract role demands extensive experience in engineering, fabrication or industrial projects. The role requires strong commercial judgment, ability to manage costs and risks, and leadership of procurement teams across equipment, materials and subcontracted services.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of procurement or supply chain experience, with supervisory responsibilities.
• Experience in oil and gas, EPC, industrial engineering, fabrication, construction or manufacturing environments.
• Demonstrated international sourcing and supplier relationship management.
• Strong knowledge of commercial negotiations, supplier contracts and subcontractor management.
• Experience purchasing engineered equipment, industrial materials and fabrication-related products or services.

Responsibilities

• Lead procurement and sourcing activities for equipment, materials and subcontracted services.
• Develop and implement purchasing strategies to improve cost efficiency, quality and delivery performance.
• Identify, evaluate and establish relationships with domestic and international suppliers.
• Support the expansion of overseas sourcing and procurement capabilities.
• Negotiate supplier agreements, commercial terms and subcontractor contracts.
• Manage supplier prequalification, performance evaluation and risk assessment.
• Collaborate with engineering, fabrication and project management teams to meet project schedules and requirements.
• Oversee procurement planning, expediting and supplier delivery performance.
• Identify cost reduction opportunities while maintaining required quality standards.
• Monitor market conditions, supply chain disruptions and international sourcing risks.
• Resolve supplier disputes, contractual issues and delivery challenges.
• Lead, mentor and support procurement personnel, fostering a collaborative and accountable working environment.
• For candidates pursuing the broader Supply Chain Manager position, oversee materials management, inventory, warehousing and logistics functions.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and compliance with established quality management systems.
