Job summary

Bird Construction is seeking a Purchasing Agent for Industrial West in Edmonton, reporting to the Supply Chain Manager. You will procure materials, services, and assets, selecting vendors, processing purchase orders, and expediting deliveries to meet project schedules.

You will build strong supplier relationships, apply procurement policies, and use cost-effective, best-value approaches on diverse construction projects while maintaining compliance and ethics.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary diploma/degree in related discipline is asset.
• Strong knowledge of procurement best practices and risk management.
• Experience with purchase orders, supplier selection, and contract administration.

Responsibilities

• Procure materials/assets and services per policies and procedures.
• Identify and select vendors based on specification, price and delivery date.
• Expedite deliveries and resolve material discrepancies with suppliers.
• Prepare RFQs and analyze quotations; communicate purchasing procedures to departments.
