Job summary

Ryerson Canada is seeking a Material Handler in Richmond, BC to handle day-to-day staging, packing, and picking material for shipments. The role operates out of our Richmond branch at 12311 Horseshoe Way, with a Monday–Friday 9:00am–5:30pm shift.

Qualifications

• 1 year of similar job experience preferred.

• Basic math and measuring skills required.
• Basic computer skills or comfort using a computer.
• Ability to pass physical requirements exam for vision, hearing and mobility.

• Picking and staging feedstock for fulfillment orders.
• Breaking down bulk bundles for customer-specific orders.
• Packaging material to customer requirements.
• Operating a sit-down or side loader forklift to move material.
• Completing SAP work orders for shipping/receiving.

As a Material Handler at Ryerson, you will be responsible for day-to-day staging, packing, and picking material for shipments using proper equipment.

This position will work out of our Richmond, BC branch located at 12311 Horseshoe Way. The shift for this position is Monday through Friday from 9:00am - 5:30pm.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Picking and staging feedstock for fulfillment orders
• Breaking down bulk bundles for customer-specific orders
• Packaging of material to customer requirements
• Operating a sit-down or side loader forklift to move material as needed
• Proper completion of paperwork and SAP work order confirmation for shipping/receiving on the computer
• Maximum productivity for finished goods creation
• All other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of similar job experience preferred
• Minimum 1 year of forklift experience preferred
• Basic math and measuring skills required
• Basic computer skills and/or comfort using a computer
• Physical ability to pass physical requirements exam for vision, hearing, and mobility
