Ryder System, Inc. in Oakville, Ontario is hiring a Material Handler I to perform warehouse duties including loading, picking, packing, shipping, and receiving. The role offers an hourly rate of $24.00 and a Monday to Friday shift from 6:30am to 3:00pm.

This is a full-time position within a dynamic logistics environment. Responsibilities include maintaining accurate picking and packing records, assisting with cycle counts, and supporting the automated packing system during production hours.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year or more warehouse/powered equipment experience preferred.
• Valid forklift operator license required.

Responsibilities

About the Job

Under the responsibility of the Logistics Supervisor, the Material Handler I performs warehouse functions, which may include loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and, cycle counting.

Hourly Rate: $24.00 per hour

Shift: Monday to Friday, 6:30am to 3:00pm

Essential Functions

• Perform warehouse function, which may include loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and, cycle counting

• Performing duties within performance measurement guidelines of the contract

• Responsible for the accurate picking and packing, auditing, tote induction, staging of products and loading and unloading of trucks

• Responsible of dealing with day to day paperwork in a warehouse environment (i.e. picking sheets, returns, bills of lading, etc.)

• Provide technical and maintenance support for different aspects related to the automated packing system during the core shift hour of production

Additional Responsibilities

• Candidate must have basic level knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice requirements, if applicable to site.

• Performing duties within performance measurement guidelines of the contract.

• Some locations may require a Motor Vehicles Records (MVR) check as a part of the background screening process to drive a company vehicle as needed.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Due to federal regulations for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP) clearance

• Candidate must be able to provide proof of the Canadian Citizenship or PR status, for example – passport, PR card or birth certificate etc.

• Candidate must be able to provide government issued ID that confirms the address.

• Candidate must be fluent in both written and spoken English.
