Job summary

COMPASS GROUP CANADA is seeking a Unit Manager to lead a food-service unit in Ontario. You will drive financial performance, oversee food preparation, budgeting, and inventory while ensuring top-tier client satisfaction and compliance with safety standards.

The role requires at least two years of related management experience, ProServe or Food Safe training, and strong leadership and communication skills. Travel and roster management are part of the role.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of related food-service management experience.
• ProServe, Food Safe or Basic First Aid training required.
• Ability to control food and labour costs.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Drive the financial success of the unit's operation.
• Lead all phases of food preparation, operation planning and expenditures, budgeting, costing and maintaining inventory levels.
• Recruit, hire, schedule and perform general administrative duties.
• Ensure excellent client relationships and client satisfaction with the service and menu options.
• Achieve compliance with Compass’ Quality Assurance, Occupational Health and Safety Act and WHMIS regulations.
• Initiate frequent workplace inspections and WHMIS training of all staff.

Job description

The salary range for this position is $50,000 - $60,000. Final compensation will be determined based on relevant skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity. In addition to base salary, eligible employees may be entitled to other elements of total compensation, which may include group benefits, employer RRSP contributions, and discretionary bonus or incentive programs, where applicable to the role. We are committed to offering competitive compensation and comply with all applicable pay transparency legislation.
