Job summary

New-Life Mills, part of Parrish & Heimbecker, is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our Denfield feed mill. You will perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot equipment, and support safe, reliable production in a manufacturing setting.

Requirements include 1+ year of maintenance experience, exposure to electrical or pneumatic systems, and the ability to work 8-hour shifts with on-call evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Conduct mechanical and preventative maintenance on plant machinery and equipment.
• Perform troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of machinery and equipment.
• Prepare and update preventative maintenance program.
• Participate in water treatment programs involving high pressure steam equipment.
• Work in a feed manufacturing environment with HACCP and GMP requirements.
• Improve safety and reliability of machines by following precautions.
• Complete and update maintenance reports to standards.
• Maintain sanitation and housekeeping in production area and shop.
• Forecast parts needs and order accordingly.

Your Team

New-Life Mills: New-Life Mills has been a leader in livestock nutrition since 1964, providing feed solutions that support healthy, productive animals. With a focus on research, quality assurance, and species-specific expertise, we help farmers achieve optimal performance and profitability.

We are seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our New-Life Mills team. This role is responsible for executing a preventative maintenance program, troubleshooting, and identifying problematic equipment and developing solutions to repair plant equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Maintaining the safety and reliability of machinery and equipment is critical in achieving optimal production efficiency and minimizing downtime of the feed mill operations.

Day to Day

• Conduct mechanical and preventative maintenance on plant machinery and equipment.
• Perform troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of machinery and equipment.
• Prepare and update preventative maintenance program.
• Participate in water treatment programs involving high pressure steam equipment.
• Work effectively in a feed manufacturing environment with emphasis and compliance to Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) requirements.
• Optimize safety and reliability of machines and equipment by following and complying with appropriate precautions to prevent risk to employees and to the product.
• Complete and update maintenance reports as per company and regulatory standards.
• Perform maintenance post clean up and maintain high standard of sanitation and housekeeping in the production area and maintenance shop.
• Proactively forecast Parts needs/requirements and order accordingly.

What You’ll Bring:

• Minimum 1 year of experience in a maintenance position, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Some experience in electrical and/or pneumatic equipment is required.
• Ability to work 8+ hour shiftas required
• On call availability for emergency repairs during evenings and weekends.
• Millwright or Electricians certificate is an asset
• Agricultural experience is an asset
• Automation experience is an asset
