Job summary

P&H Milling is seeking a Maintenance Manager to lead all maintenance activities ensuring efficient and cost-conscious operation. The role drives equipment reliability, oversees PM programs, and supports continuous improvement while complying with health, food safety, and quality standards.

The successful candidate will provide leadership to the maintenance team, collaborate with Production, QA, and OH&S, and manage budgets and capital projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent, ASCT or Red Seal millwright/electrician

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and coaching to the maintenance team.
• Maintain a preventive maintenance program.
• Collaborate with Production, QA, OH&S teams.
• Plan and oversee installation, maintenance and repair of plant equipment, piping, and facilities.
• Suggest improvements through root cause analysis (RCA).
• Manage maintenance costs and budget.
• Maintain records and documentation per procedures.
• Oversee equipment inventory and parts procurement.
• Assist in capital project installations and timelines.

Your Team

P&H Milling: P&H Milling is Canada’s largest Canadian-owned milling company, producing high-quality flour and cereal products for bakeries, food manufacturers, and consumers. From coast to coast, we transform Canadian wheat into trusted products that feed families at home and abroad.

We are seeking a Maintenance Manager to join our P&H Milling team. This role is responsible for or overseeing all maintenance activities to ensure the efficient, effective, and economical operation of the facility. This role provides leadership to the maintenance team, drives equipment reliability and performance, and supports continuous improvement initiatives. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with all health and safety, food safety, and quality standards while maintaining a productive and cost-conscious operation.

Day to Day

• Provide direction and leadership through effective coaching and mentoring.
• Maintains an effective Preventive Maintenance (PM) program.
• Maintains a transparent and effective communication with Production, QA, OH&S teams at all times.
• Plan and oversee installation, maintenance and repair industrial machinery which includes plant equipment, piping systems, pneumatic systems, and facility structure / services.
• Provide recommendations and suggestions to address plant and equipment deficiencies or for continuous improvement through root cause analysis (RCA).
• Effectively assist in managing and controlling maintenance costs and budget
• Maintain documents and records in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Manage equipment inventory and procurement of parts.
• Assist in the installation of Capital projects including the research of the project, cost estimates, sourcing of contractors and project timelines.

What You’ll Bring:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Applied Science Technologist (AScT), Journeyman/Red Seal trades certification as Millwright or Electrician.
• Supervisory experience leading a small team.
• Working knowledge with any CMMS software.
• Ability to read, follow and understand electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic drawings, blueprints, schematics, code requirements, service manuals and manufacturers' specifications.
• Competent in problem solving, team building, planning and decision making.
