Job summary

Chartwell is seeking a Maintenance Manager responsible for the overall maintenance and upkeep of our residence, including equipment, furnishings, and surrounding areas. This role ensures the physical environment supports resident comfort and safety while aligning with Chartwell’s standards.

You will plan preventative maintenance, respond to repair needs, manage external providers, lead maintenance and housekeeping staff, and participate in Health & Safety initiatives to deliver professional,

Qualifications

  • Minimum one to three years' supervisory experience.
  • Extensive building maintenance and systems knowledge; able to coordinate tasks with vendors.
  • Trade certification or maintenance training preferred.
  • Experience with carpentry, plumbing, painting, and equipment preferred.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Clear communicator with customer service mindset.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures in healthcare environments is a plus.
  • Flexible for on‑call and varied hours.

What You’ll Bring

  • Supervisory or leadership experience in maintenance or building operations
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills; able to plan and prioritize work
  • Computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Clear communicator with strong customer service and conflict resolution skills
  • Knowledge of safety procedures within healthcare an asset
  • Flexible for on‑call and varied hours
  • Valid Driver’s License, or reliable means of transportation

Additional Requirements
  • Valid driver’s license may be required
  • Ability to perform physical duties, including lifting, bending, kneeling, and climbing
  • Must carry a company‑issued phone and respond to emergency situations as needed
  • Comfort using AI and other digital platform systems and tools to support daily work
  • Clear Criminal Background Check, VSS and TB Test where required
