Job summary

Bison Transport Inc. in Calgary, Alberta is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to join our Maintenance Team. You will perform quick lube services, minor repairs and support in daily shop tasks to keep our fleet on the road.

We value teamwork and safety, with an apprenticeship-style program and opportunities for skill development through ongoing training. This role is full-time, on-site, with shift hours Monday to Thursday 17:30-4:00.

Qualifications

• Valid G/Class 5 driver’s license
• Minimum Grade 12 required or enrolled in a High School Apprenticeship Program
• Must have mechanical aptitude
• Able to perform manual labour
• Adaptable and able to work independently
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Capable of multi-tasking and achieving required deadlines
• Strong communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills
• Detailed oriented
• Basic computer skills

Responsibilities

• Quick lube program

Location: South Shop

Shift: Monday to Thursday from 17:30-4:00

The Maintenance Assistant works within the Maintenance Team and is responsible for performing quick lube services as well as minor mechanical repairs and other duties in an efficient and timely manner. The Maintenance Assistant is expected to be a team player in the Maintenance Department.

Responsibilities include:

• Quick lube program


• Minor repairs


• Tractor detailing, sanitization


• Decal removal


• Daily/Weekly/Monthly checklists


• General shop/yard clean up


• Customer and internal DPF filter cleaning


• Assistance in the other departments as required


• Other duties as assigned
