Job summary

Bison Transport Inc. is hiring a Tractor Technician for a full-time, permanent role at our South Shop location in Rocky View, AB.

You will work with the Service Coordinator and a team of Trailer and Tractor Technicians to perform preventative maintenance and repairs on our fleet. The ideal candidate will be a licensed Tractor Technician with experience on tractors, mandatory safeties qualifications, strong diagnostic and time-management abilities, and a proven ability to service drivers with

Qualifications

• Must be a Licensed Tractor Technician.
• Experience working on tractors as a Heavy Equipment Apprentice or Technician.
• Mandatory qualification to perform Safeties.
• Diagnosing and time-management abilities.
• Ability to provide superior customer service to our Drivers.
• Support and encourage Apprentices throughout their apprenticeship.
• Basic level computer skills (paperless work order entry).
• Ability to work unsupervised.
• Hold a valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on the Bison fleet in a timely and efficient manner by diagnosing problems found during inspections and prescribing remedial action.
• Collaborate with Service Coordinator, Trailer Technician/Mechanics and Tractor Technician/Mechanics.
• Ensure safe, reliable operation of equipment and adherence to maintenance schedules.

Job description

The Tractor Technician is a permanent, full-time position.

You will work in conjunction with the Service Coordinator, Trailer Technician/Mechanics and Tractor Technician/Mechanics to complete preventative maintenance and repairs on the Bison fleet in a timely and efficient manner by diagnosing problems found during inspections prescribing the correct remedial action.

Qualifications

• Must be a Licensed Tractor Technician
• Experience working on tractors as a Heavy Equipment Apprentice or Technician
• Previous experience and qualification to perform Safeties are considered mandatory in this position
• Demonstrated diagnosing and time-management abilities
• Ability to provide superior customer service to our Drivers
• Support and encourage Apprentices throughout their apprenticeship
• Basic level computer skills (paperless work order entry)
• Ability to work unsupervised
• Hold a valid Driver's License.
• May stand and walk on level and uneven surfaces, twist, bend, push, pull, crouch, climb stairs, bend and crawl, grasp, drag, lift and carry items weighing 50 lbs or less.
