Job summary

Bison Transport Inc. is seeking a Mobile Trailer Technician to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on the fleet, diagnosing problems found during inspections and prescribing corrective actions.

You will work with the Service Coordinator, Trailer Mechanics, and other Tractor Mechanics to diagnose issues and fix them promptly, operating our Mobile Repair Unit outside the shop. The ideal candidate holds a licensed heavy‑duty mechanic or CVIP inspection license, has 2–3 years of trailer

Qualifications

• Licensed heavy duty mechanic or a valid CVIP inspection license.
• Diagnosing and time-management abilities are essential.
• Experience with safety inspections is a plus.
• Superior customer service for drivers.
• Ability to work unsupervised and outdoors.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair transport trailers in the yard.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on the fleet.
• Operate the Mobile Repair Unit outside of the shop and coordinate with the service team.

Job description

Successful candidates are eligible for a $5,000 Sign-on Bonus!

This position is subject to a Monday to Friday schedule, 7:30am-16:00.

As the Mobile Trailer Technician you will work in conjunction with the Service Coordinator, Trailer Mechanics, and the other Tractor Mechanics to complete preventative maintenance and repairs on the Bison fleet in a timely and efficient manner by diagnosing problems found during inspections prescribing the correct remedial action. This position will work outside of the shop running our Mobile Repair Unit.

Qualifications

• Licensed heavy duty mechanic or a valid CVIP inspection license
• Demonstrated diagnosing and time-management abilities will be key to your success in this position
• Previous experience and qualification to perform Safety inspections are considered an asset in this position
• Ability to provide superior customer service to our drivers
• Ability to work unsupervised
• Willingness to work outside
• May stand and walk on level and uneven surfaces, twist, bend, push, pull, crouch, climb stairs, bend and crawl, grasp, drag, lift and carry items weighing 50 lbs or less.

Our Ideal Candidate will possess

• Troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repair of Transport Trailers in the yard.
• 2-3 years of experience working on transport trailers and a great mechanical aptitude would be considered an asset in this position.
• Demonstrated diagnosing and time-management abilities will be key to your success in this position.
• Ability to provide superior customer service to our drivers
• Ability to work unsupervised
• Willingness to work outside
• Valid Driver’s License
