Job summary

Bison Transport is seeking an Over the Road Customer Service Assistant to support regional freight coordination and daily truck movement. The role requires learning new software and acquiring industry knowledge to assist drivers and the regional team.

The candidate will perform administrative work, enter work orders, create purchase orders, and use reports to identify issues while maintaining strong driver and customer relations.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Provide assistance to Drivers when a breakdown occurs.
  • Work order entry and creating purchase orders.
  • Utilize reports to identify data issues and take corrective action.
  • Communicate exceptions and monitor action effects.
  • Coordinate with Outsourced Maintenance Coordinators to schedule equipment.
  • Maintain driver and customer relations.

Job description

This position is permanent full-time and subject to a modified work schedule, continental shift from 6:00-18:00. Bison's Customer Service division offers safety, reliability and exceptional customer service ensuring on-time pickup and delivery of shipments. The Over the Road Customer Service Assistant (OTR CSA) is responsible for performing duties dealing with the day-to-day coordination of freight and truck movement in a particular region. In supporting their regional team, the CSA will have routine customer contact and be able to execute the detailed and administrative work. The successful candidate is required to learn new computer programs and systems applications along with learning a working knowledge of the industry and Bison's network including new terminology and a detailed knowledge of North American geography.

Specific Responsibilities include:

  • Provide assistance to Drivers when a breakdown occurs
  • Work order entry
  • Creating purchase orders
  • Utilizing reports to identify incorrect or problem data using established guidelines
  • Communicating exceptions, initiate corrective action, and report and evaluate the action effects.
  • Works with Outsourced Maintenance Coordinators to schedule equipment and ensures equipment gets to required shop
  • Driver & Customer Relations
