Job summary

Chartwell Meadowbrook Retirement Community in Lively, ON is seeking a Maintenance Aide to keep residences, equipment, and grounds safe and well‑maintained. You’ll perform routine maintenance, assist with preparing suites, and respond quickly to requests to ensure residents have a comfortable, worry‑free home.

Ideal candidates bring previous maintenance experience, strong teamwork, organization, and a commitment to excellent customer service in a supportive, inclusive workplace.

Qualifications

  • Secondary school education or equivalent experience.
  • Previous maintenance experience and ability to use equipment safely.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills with staff, residents, and vendors.
  • Organized and able to keep work areas safe, clean, and efficient.
  • Committed to providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Help with regular maintenance tasks and keep records up to date.
  • Repair and maintain furniture, fixtures, outdoor spaces, and common areas.
  • Respond quickly to maintenance requests and report issues as needed.
  • Prepare suites for new residents, including small repairs and painting.
  • Assist with preparing suites for new occupancy, including minor carpentry and painting.
  • Keep supplies organized and follow all health, safety, and infection control rules.

    Additional Requirements
    • Ability to perform frequent physical duties including bending, kneeling, climbing ladders, and lifting tools or equipment
    • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods
    • Willingness to wear personal protective equipment as required
    • Preparedness to respond to emergency situations
    • Clear Criminal Background Check, VSS and TB Test where required
