Job summary

Chartwell Retirement Residences is seeking a Housekeeping Aide to maintain clean, safe, and welcoming spaces for residents. You will ensure sanitary environments, manage suites and common areas, and uphold infection prevention protocols.

The role emphasizes teamwork, attention to detail, and a customer‑focused mindset to enhance residents' daily living and comfort within our communities.

Qualifications

  • Secondary school education or relevant experience.
  • Housekeeping experience, ideally in a residential or healthcare setting.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Customer-focused with ability to stay organized and safe.

Responsibilities

  • Clean, dust, and disinfect resident suites, including bedrooms, bathrooms, furniture, and kitchenettes.
  • Maintain cleanliness in all common areas and offices.
  • Collect and dispose of garbage safely and efficiently.
  • Operate floor machines and robots.
  • Keep utility and storage rooms organized, clean, and safe.
  • Follow all health, safety, and infection prevention protocols.

What You'll Do

Additional Requirements
  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed
  • Physical ability to meet job demands, including standing, bending, pushing, and pulling for extended periods, and operating cleaning equipment
  • Preparedness to respond to emergency situations
  • Clear Criminal Background Check, VSS and TB Test where required
