Job summary

Interpro Pipe & Steel Inc. is seeking an experienced Machinist to join our Edmonton manufacturing team. You will apply your machining expertise in a fast-paced environment, focusing on high-quality components and premium threading techniques.

You will lead daily production activities, drive improvements in productivity and yield, and uphold safety, health, and quality programs while aligning with the monthly shipping plan.

Qualifications

  • Journeyman Machinist certification with 8+ years of related experience.
  • Strong knowledge of machine operation, setup, troubleshooting and maintenance.
  • Experience with API and premium threading connections preferred.
  • Experience leading a team and overseeing daily work activities is preferred.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Support production of high-quality components in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Improve machining processes and ensure equipment performs to high standards.
  • Plan, coordinate and direct daily production activities to meet targets and shipping plan.

Job Description and Responsibilities

Join our team as a Machinist and apply your machining expertise in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

We are seeking a skilled professional with strong machining experience, a solid understanding of API and premium threading, and programming knowledge.

In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the production of high-quality components, improving machining processes, maintaining safe and efficient operations, and ensuring equipment performs at the highest standard.

Drive operational results by improving productivity, yield, first-pass yield, setup efficiency, troubleshooting, and changeover performance.

Ensure compliance with all safety, health, environmental, and quality programs.

Plan, coordinate, and direct daily production activities to meet or exceed production targets and support the monthly shipping plan.

Exercise due diligence by taking every reasonable measure to ensure employee safety.

Conduct monthly safety meetings and promote a strong safety culture.

Collaborate with operators and key stakeholders to identify issues, resolve problems, and support continuous improvement.

Provide or coordinate employee training to ensure team members meet job standards and performance expectations.

Support compliance with all company policies and applicable regulatory requirements.

Report mechanical and electrical concerns promptly and contribute to root cause and failure analysis activities.

Engage employees in continuous improvement initiatives to identify and eliminate waste.

Requirements
  • Journeyman Machinist certification with 8+ years of related experience.
  • Strong knowledge of machine operation, setup, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with API and premium threading connections preferred.
  • Previous experience leading a team and overseeing daily work activities is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in business operations and process improvement.
  • Working knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
  • Familiarity with occupational health and safety regulations and workplace safety standards.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to motivate and support a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
