Job summary

Nipissing-Parry-Sound Catholic District School Board seeks a Teacher – Long Term Occasional (LTO) at Our Lady of Fatima School in North Bay, Ontario. The position is 1.0 FTE for Grade 5/6 (English), effective immediately until approx Nov 20, 2026, with a potential extension to June 30, 2027.

The incumbent must hold basic qualifications to teach in the Junior Division and demonstrate strong collaboration, literacy/numeracy instruction, and effective use of digital tools in a Catholic education

TEACHER – LONG TERM OCCASIONAL (LTO)

OUR LADY OF FATIMA

1.0 FTE

Grade 5/6 (English)

E effective immediately, until approx November 20, 2026, but not to extend beyond June 30, 2027

Mandatory Requirements

• Basic qualifications to teach in the Junior Division

Preferred Requirements

• Sound knowledge of the programs and teaching experience in the listed divisions
• Repertoire of current instructional and assessment strategies
• Demonstrated effective communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment
• Understanding of the Ontario Catholic Curriculum and effective strategies to teach Literacy and Numeracy
• Knowledge and experience in implementing structured literacy and the use of student data to drive instruction
• Proven ability to implement effective classroom management strategies
• Knowledge and experience in utilizing student learning management systems such as Google Classroom, as well as additional G-Suite digital tools and EDSBY.
• Commitment to supporting the use of technology in instruction and learning, and to promoting an environment of innovation and creativity that engages the 21st century learner
• Understanding and commitment to the implementation of culturally responsive pedagogy and the integration of Indigenous perspectives into instruction.
• Sound knowledge and understanding of the development of student individual profiles to support the planning of differentiated instruction for a range of student learning needs.
• Commitment to being an active participant on the school's professional learning team to promote student achievement
• Willingness to actively assume extra-curricular duties and familiarity with the school environment would be an asset
• Special Education Part 1 would be an asset.
