Job summary

The Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic District School Board is seeking a Teacher – Long Term Occasional for St Theresa to deliver Grade 4/5 English instruction with 1.0 FTE. Effective immediately for an indefinite period, but not beyond June 30, 2027.

Mandatory qualifications include basic Junior Division certification; preferred candidates will have literacy/numeracy strategies, collaboration, and proficiency with Google Classroom, G-Suite and EDSBY. A criminal record check is required.

Mandatory Requirements

• Basic qualifications to teach in the Junior Division

Preferred Requirements

• Sound knowledge of the programs and teaching experience in the listed divisions
• Repertoire of current instructional and assessment strategies
• Demonstrated effective communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment
• Understanding of the Ontario Catholic Curriculum and effective strategies to teach Literacy and Numeracy
• Knowledge and experience in implementing structured literacy and the use of student data to drive instruction
• Proven ability to implement effective classroom management strategies
• Knowledge and experience in utilizing student learning management systems such as Google Classroom, as well as additional G-Suite digital tools and EDSBY.
• Commitment to supporting the use of technology in instruction and learning, and to promoting an environment of innovation and creativity that engages the 21st century learner
• Understanding and commitment to the implementation of culturally responsive pedagogy and the integration of Indigenous perspectives into instruction.
• Sound knowledge and understanding of the development of student individual profiles to support the planning of differentiated instruction for a range of student learning needs.
• Commitment to being an active participant on the school's professional learning team to promote student achievement
• Willingness to actively assume extra-curricular duties and familiarity with the school environment would be an asset
• Special Education Part 1 would be an asset.
