Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic District School Board invites applications for a Teacher – Long Term Occasional (LTO) at Holy Cross in North Bay, Ontario. The 1.0 FTE position covers Grade 7/8 Early French Immersion (EFI mornings, English afternoons) with start date effective immediately and until approx.

January 13, 2027, not beyond June 30, 2027. Mandatory qualifications include basic Intermediate Division credentials and French as a Second Language Part 1.

Qualifications

• Must hold basic qualifications to teach in the Intermediate Division.
• Must have French as a Second Language Part 1.
• Experience or knowledge of Ontario Catholic Curriculum and literacy/numeracy instruction.
• Familiar with CEFR in FSL and tech-enabled instruction.

TEACHER – LONG TERM OCCASIONAL (LTO)

HOLY CROSS

1.0 FTE

Grade 7/8 Early French Immersion (Mornings - 0.5 FTE EFI, Afternoons - 0.5 FTE English)

Effective immediately,

Until approx. January 13, 2027, but not to extend beyond June 30, 2027

Mandatory Requirements:

• Basic qualifications to teach in the Intermediate Division
• French as a Second Language Part 1

Preferred Requirements:

• Sound knowledge of the programs and teaching experience in the listed divisions
• Repertoire of current instructional and assessment strategies
• Proficient fluency in French as a Second Language
• Knowledge and experience in utilizing student learning management systems such as Google Classroom, Google Meet as well as additional G-Suite digital tools and EDSBY, to facilitate instruction and effective communication with parents
• Demonstrated effective communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment
• Understanding of the Ontario Catholic Curriculum and effective strategies to teach Literacy and Numeracy
• Knowledge and experience in implementing balanced literacy and the use of student data to drive instruction
• Understanding and experience in implementing the CEFR approach into FSL instruction
• Commitment to supporting the use of technology in instruction and learning, and to promoting an environment of innovation and creativity that engages the 21st century learner
• Proven ability to implement effective classroom management strategies
• Commitment to being an active participant in the school's professional learning team to promote student achievement
• Willingness to actively assume extra-curricular duties
• Knowledge of, and familiarity with, the school environment would be an asset
