Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic District School Board invites applications for a Teacher – Long Term Occasional (LTO) at Holy Cross for a 0.2 FTE Grade 5/6 Early French Immersion post, effective immediately through June 30, 2027. Mandatory qualifications include basic qualifications to teach in the Junior Division and French as a Second Language Part 1.

Preferred candidates will be proficient with Ontario Catholic Curriculum, Google Classroom and other G-Suite tools, and work well in a team.

TEACHER – LONG TERM OCCASIONAL (LTO)

HOLY CROSS

0.2FTE (Tuesday and Thursday Afternoons)

Grade 5/6 Early French Immersion

Effective immediately,

For an indefinite period, but not to extend beyond June 30, 2027

Mandatory Requirements:

• Basic qualifications to teach in the Junior Division
• French as a Second Language Part 1

Preferred Requirements:

• Sound knowledge of the programs and teaching experience in the listed divisions
• Repertoire of current instructional and assessment strategies
• Proficient fluency in French as a Second Language
• Knowledge and experience in utilizing student learning management systems such as Google Classroom, Google Meet as well as additional G-Suite digital tools and EDSBY, to facilitate instruction and effective communication with parents
• Demonstrated effective communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment
• Understanding of the Ontario Catholic Curriculum and effective strategies to teach Literacy and Numeracy
• Knowledge and experience in implementing balanced literacy and the use of student data to drive instruction
• Understanding and experience in implementing the CEFR approach into FSL instruction
• Commitment to supporting the use of technology in instruction and learning, and to promoting an environment of innovation and creativity that engages the 21st century learner
• Proven ability to implement effective classroom management strategies
• Commitment to being an active participant in the school's professional learning team to promote student achievement
• Willingness to actively assume extra-curricular duties
• Knowledge of, and familiarity with, the school environment would be an asset
